All Times Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter stole the show at Black Is Beyoncé’s King

Beyoncé‘s Black is king is finally here!

The 38-year-old singer released her visual album at Disney + Friday, July 31st.

Safely safe to say Blue Ivy Carter, 8, and Rumi Carter and Sir Carter, 3, are showstoppers, especially considering that the twin rails mark a rare sight. They are not the only members of the famous family involved in the video, either. Tina Knowles-Lawson and Jay Z are also in it. In fact, there are some famous figures. Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Rowland and Naomi Campbell are featured in the film, too.

According to Disney +, Black is king “reimagines the lessons of Lion King for the young kings and queens of today in search of their crowns. ”

;

“The film was in production for a year with a cast and crew representing diversity and connection,” the streaming platform states on its website. “The travels of Black families, all the time, have been revered in a tale of a young king’s transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity. His fathers help guide him towards his destiny, and with the teachings of “his father and guidance from his childhood love, he acquires the virtues necessary to recover his home and throne. These eternal lessons are revealed and reflected through the Black voices of today, now seated in their power.”

In an Instagram post last month, Beyoncé referred to it Black is king as a “love affair” and “her passion project”. She also shared that she “was originally filmed as an accompanying part to her Lion King: Gifts soundtrack, “for which she debuted alongside the 2019 shoot, and” intended to celebrate the breadth and beauty of Black descent. “

“I could never have imagined that a year later, all the hard work that went into this production would serve a greater purpose,” continued Beyoncé, who played Nala in the Disney movie, in her post. “The events of 2020 have made the vision and message of the film even more important as people around the world embark on a historic journey. We are all in search of safety and light. Many of us want change. I believe that when black people tell our stories, we can shift the axis of the world and tell our REAL story of generative wealth and soul wealth not told in our history books ”.
