Bayern Munich score against Chelsea: Lewandowski scores twice as German giants move to Champions League quarters

Bayern Munich are advancing to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after beating Chelsea on Saturday. Bayern Munich won the second leg, 4-1, with Robert Lewandowski scoring twice. The Bundesliga winners entered the second leg with a 3-0 advantage, so they ended up with an overall 7-1 advantage over their Premier League opponent.

The German team was able to capitalize on the first moment of their first legs when Lewandowski, the main result of the competition, won a penalty kick in the 10th minute and converted the effort. Bayern added goals throughout the scoring with Ivan Perisic scoring in the 24th minute, and Corentin Tolisso adding to the fresh score line from the bench during the 76th minute. Lewandowski scored the 1

3th goal of his Champions League campaign at home in the 84th minute.

Bayern will face Barcelona in the quarterfinals.

Chelsea were without some starters for this match, including star Christian Pulisic and suspended players Marcos Alonso and César Azpilicueta, and had to manage an already huge goal deficit.

Manager Frank Lampard was able to use N’Golo Kante and made the dubious choice to keep him throughout the interceptions. Lampard made just one submission throughout the match, which came in the 81st minute when Olivier Giroud entered the location of England’s only goal, Tammy Abraham.
