Harris County Public Health released information about the Sterling Oaks Rehabilitation Facility, where, as of Tuesday, six of the deaths were confirmed to have leaked from the coronavirus. Nine others are awaiting a review of medical records, the agency added.
According to HCPH, officials began looking at the facility located at Lakecrest Manor Drive on July 3, when two people tested positive for the virus.
The agency said it is actively monitoring 88 residents and staff members for the virus, as well as an additional case that is outside HCPH jurisdiction.
Sterling Oaks was placed under orders from HCPH “to ensure compliance with infection control and prevention, to track viral transmission of the COVID-19 and COVID-19-related death virus. HCPH is continuing to work with HHSC and entities other state in this investigation. “
Sterling Oaks Website states that the facility houses 126 beds in 61,000 square feet.
“We are a luxury community focused on Rehabilitation Services and Disabled Nursing. We offer short stay services and extensive care,” the website said.
Entering the day, Harris County and Houston have counted 86,563 confirmed cases confirmed with 905 deaths.
