Disney Television Studios has launched a major report of its three studios, 20th Century Fox Television, Fox 21 TV Studios and ABC Studios / ABC Signature. The move comes nearly 18 months after Disney’s $ 71.3 billion acquisition of major 21st Century assets and seven months after Disney-owned movie companies 20th Century Fox Studios and Fox Searchlight Pictures dropped Fox in January to ‘became Studios and Centlight 20th Paintings.
ABC Studios and its cable / streaming subsidiary, ABC Signature, led by President Jonnie Davis, will be merged into an ABC Signature studio. Fox 21 Television Studios, led by President Bert Salke, will be renamed Touchstone Television. Fox 20th Century Television, led by President Carolyn Cassidy, will become the 20th Television. Because they are part of Disney TV Studios, the divisions also threw “studios”; out of their advertisers.

The removal of Fox was agreed when the transaction between Disney and 21 Century Fox was negotiated to avoid confusion in the market. While rebranding the Fox Century 20th TV simply by dropping “Fox” was straightforward, renaming Fox 21 TV Studios posed a problem, leading to delays in the overall rebrand. The solution came in the form of Touchstone Television, bringing back a Disney television heritage brand that retired in 2007. As the Fox 21 name disappears, the new Touchstone TV logo retains its signature machine font for continuity.
The new graphic logos (see above) and “motion cards” (see below) will be summarized in new episodes of Disney Television Studios programming. The changes are effective immediately, although new names and logos may not be fully integrated by the end of the year. Library titles and pre-rebranded episodes will remain unchanged.
