Ford is recalling more than 558,000 medium-sized SUVs in North America because the brakes may not work properly.
The memory covers some of the 2015 to 2018 Ford Edge and 2016 to 2018 Lincoln MKX vehicles.

Ford said Wednesday that some of the front brake hoses could explode, causing brake fluid to leak. If too much fluid leaks, more effort may be needed to stop the vehicle, and the stopping distance may increase.

The company says it does not know of any collisions or damage from the problem.
Drivers should see a brake warning light on the dashboard if the fluid rises too low.

Owners will be notified starting the week of September 14th. Dealers will replace the front brake rail hoses with new ones with a different design.
