The release title of the Microsoft Xbox Series X, Halo Infinite, has been delayed until 2021. Developer 343 Industries said moving to a work-from-home environment was part of the reason for the delay, and would give the team time to ” offer a Halo game experience that fulfills our vision. “
Needless to say, the internet had a lot to say about the delay, and we are rounding up some of the heat people have thrown at social media.
Halo Infinite is now scheduled to come out in 2021, but a more specific date has not been announced yet. The delay is big news because Halo Infinite would be the first Halo game to release as an initial title for the new Xbox devices since Halo: Combat Evolution launched in 2001.
While Halo Infinite is now coming in 2021, Microsoft still plans to release the Xbox Series X this year – a release date in November has now been confirmed. The platform will have “thousands” of titles available at launch thanks to its backward compatibility support for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox.
Halo community director Brian Jarrard reflected that he understands the news of the delay is “disappointing”. However, he also mentioned that he has been upset to see the Halo community respond to the news and support them for 343 doing what it has to do to end the game.
Never easy to give news that many will find disappointing, but the overwhelming display of support and understanding that comes from the community today is amazing. We are all in this looking for the best game possible. Thank you 🙏

Halo community manager John Junyszek shared a similar sentiment. “The Halo community is the best community,” he said, adding the punched emoji to his tweet.
Mat Piscatella, who is an analyst at research firm NPD, said in his tweet that people should remember and respect the fact that we are in the midst of a pandemic and have patience and understanding about the Halo Infinite delay.
The fact that video games are made at all is not a miracle. Please do not be fooled that some are delayed amid a pandemic that has forced everyone to relocate their entire way of working and living on the fly. C’mon gamers, a little empathy would go a long way.

Waypoint reporter Patrick Klepek added that he had heard that relocating the 343 to a work-from-home environment had a “particularly large impact” on the final stages of Halo Infinite development.
I have heard for many this year that the shift from work to home between COVID-19 had a particularly large impact on the final development scope of Halo Infinite. The delay makes a lot of sense, even though I wondered if they would really make the decision.

Ace Watkins, the fake players president, responded with the delay as well as a joke about Joe Biden announcing Kamala Harris as his race mate the same day with this news for Halo.
Joe Biden announced Kamala Harris as his husband today because he is too scared to deal with the big issues that his campaign cannot address. Do not be fooled by this confusion. As president, I will make sure we get Halo: Infinite on time.

Windows Central journalist Jez Corden joked that 343 delayed Halo Infinite to further include Craig Brute in the game. It’s a joke, but hopefully 343 actually includes an Easter Egg or some other popular meme lunch.
They delayed Halo Infinite to add Craig as a main character image.

Communications manager Wushu Studios Shinobi602 said it was commendable for 343 to delay Halo Infinite, given that it was the flagship title for the X Series.
Anyone easy for anyone outside of gamedev to show and mock 343 in Halo Infinite. It was the backbone of the X Series this year – arguably Microsoft’s biggest project ever. It could have been rushed and fixed later, but the release delay for the quality and health of the employees is commendable.

Gears of War stylist Cliff Bleszinski said he welcomes the news of Halo Infinite delay if it means the final product will be better. “Take your time, the team and eventually, shut down and get my money,” he said.
Halo Infinite is delayed.
That franchise broke the mold of devils for convoluted shooters and I was very dumb at the time – when the first one came out – to recognize it.
Take your time, your team and, eventually, shut down and get my money.

Twitter user 9 VOLT brought a memorable quote from Shigeru Miyamoto to refer to Halo Infinite delay, but with a more humorous twist.
a hurried game is bad forever, a late game is eventually running forever. just think of this famous saying by shigeru miyamoto if you are sad about the infinity halo being delayed 🙂
