Thursday afternoon, The Simpsons producer James L. Brooks on Twitter, “I would not be surprised if Marge Simpson shared her reaction to Jenna’s shooting.”
He was referring to a tweet from Trump campaign senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis that was blown up the day before during the first official event of Joe Biden’s official campaign with his running mate Kamala Harris.
“Ellis, who has also pushed the latest theory of the best conspiracy around the vice-presidential candidate, tweeted in Harris’ speech,”Kamala sounds like Marge Simpson. Twitter was piled up, but the iconic cartoon mother is likely to have the final say.
“I don̵7;t usually get into politics,” Marge begins in a new video released Friday morning. “But senior adviser to President Jenna Ellis just said that Kamala Harris sounds like me! Lisa says she will not say this as a compliment.”
“If that’s the case, like a typical suburban housewife,” she continues, taking a subtle scratch on President Trump’s recent tweets, “I’m starting to feel a little disrespected. I teach my kids to do not call it, Janet… ”
Then, while the clip is cut on the outside of The Simpsons family house at night, Marge adds under her breath, “I would say I’m merciful, but I’m afraid they will whitewash it.”
Of course, while Marge may rarely “get into politics” this is not the first time The Simpsons has decided he has to answer after someone on the right shared their unintentional reading of the show.
Two years ago, Senator Ted Cruz confidently declared that “Democrats are Lisa Simpson’s party and Republicans are happily Homer and Bart and Maggie and Marge’s party.”
“I like that Mr Cruz enjoys it The Simpsons, but I think his understanding of the characters is poor, “presenter Al Jean told The Daily Beast at the time.” I think if he were to explore Lisa’s positions, he’m a smart man, he could change your mind. ”
