She was really bumpy.
Meghan Markle pulled out of Pippa Middleton’s high-profile wedding at the last minute – because she knew it would turn into a spectacle of who had the best butt, according to her new biography.
Pippa – whose piglet stole the show at her sister Kate’s royal wedding to Prince William – was worried her nuptials would be “embellished” by the “media fury” surrounding Markle and then-royal Prince Harry, the princes claim the authors.
She made the “Suits” star a “somewhat ready-made addition to the friends list” for Middleton’s May 2017 wedding to James Matthews, according to the new bios, “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and Getting a Modern Royal Family”; .
Markle “took careful care of her dress” to ensure that she was “stylish without splashing,” the book says.
But just for hours, she decided not to attend when the Sun newspaper told a story with a headline suggesting it would be “Meghan v Pippa” at the “Wedding of the Rears,” bio says.
“Harry and Meghan agreed she could not show up at church” after the story suggested Markle was ready to set up Middleton with the “Pippa moment” himself.
“If they were worried that their arrival could create a media circus, despite any precautions, now they had no doubt it would happen,” the book says.
Instead, the actress checked in on a nearby Airbnb while her prince just went to church service – later getting into a reception in a “pure glowing black dress” and doing her makeup, the book says.
Ironically, Markle’s best friend at the time, Jessica Mulroney, ended up taking the headlines – with a back-shot of her in a blue dress with a figure hugging attention to the way the bride had at her sister’s wedding.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have insisted that they “were not interviewed and did not contribute” to “Finding Freedom”.
However, the authors’ note states that, “when appropriate”, they spoke to “the couple themselves”.
