A riot was declared in Portland on Sunday evening as officers tried to extinguish another night of riots as they saw protesters marching on a police union building, throwing objects at officers, blocking a road and setting fire to warehouses, according to numerous reports.
About 200 people marched from Kenton Park to the Portland Police Association building shortly before 10 p.m., which was the site of another protest Saturday.
When protesters arrived outside the building, police warned them not to engage in criminal activity.

“For those who gather on North Lombardy Street, you are in the PPA office. Do not engage in criminal activities such as vandalism or attempting to set the building on fire,”; police said. “These types of activities will not be allowed and will result in the arrest and possible use of force, such as riot control ammunition and tear gas.”
Demonstrators blocked the entrance to the street using landfills and fencing, according to The Oregonian. The flames were seen rising from landfills in the middle of the road
Police dressed in riot gear then descended on the crowd, which retreated down North Denver Avenue before a riot was declared.
“The meeting on North Denver Ave near North Russet St is now being declared a riot. All persons in the North area should be dispersed while traveling to the North now. You have been ordered to disperse immediately,” police said.
The protesters would later move to a local park before dozens returned to the police union building, and authorities ordered those gathered to leave.
Officers would form a line around the building and several people were reportedly arrested overnight, the newspaper reported.
