Mixing features and styling from two very American icons, the Ford Mustang and Tesla, the Aviar R67 aims to be the world’s first electrified muscle car. It uses the platform from the Tesla Model S and the incomprehensible design language from the ’60s Ford Mustang, to create a powerful car that is as impressive in appearance as it is in performance. On paper, for now.
“I like the ’60s,” Says Aleksey Rachev, founder of Aviar Motors. “By charisma and style, they have no equal. Their powerful and aggressive silhouette is really recognizable, and street performance always attracts admiring glances. […] We tried to capture the spirit of the legendary cars of the 60s and rethink it in a modern way. ”;
That means taking the incomprehensible Mustangs model of that time and packing it with technology from Tesla, to create the ultimate dream car for today’s generation. While there is little chance of confusing the exterior for anything other than a ‘Stang’, despite the Aviar logo on the grille, Tesla elements have penetrated from the inside – mostly the large, central infotainment screen.
It is a tasteful mix of both, at least from the manufacturers available. But the R67 promises to be even more impressive in terms of performance.
With 840 hp electrified by two electric motors, the R67 boasts a top speed of 250 kph (155 mp) and acceleration from 0 to 100 kph (0 to 62 mph) in just 2.2 seconds. 100 kWh the battery is good for 507 km (315 miles) on a single charge, says Aviar Motors. The R67 will be compatible with the Tesla Superchargers.
“I would not say we made the best car in the world, but still as a means to make a special mood, it is unlikely to be. None,” Rachev says without false modesty.
Aviar Motors is currently working on a prototype of the R67, so there are concrete plans to bring it to market. As for the price that may come, no word yet. But you can imagine it will not come cheap.
