The laser beams finally bounce back to Earth from the Moon



Earthenware is known to mix with lasers and try to make them work for different purposes. until communication with extraterrestrial beings with lasers it was a challenging idea and a difficult project to get away with; however, sending them to the moon and returning them was actually a success.

A group of scientists from NASA have finally received their signal again from the Moon, thanks to the Lunar Reconfirmation Orbiter (LRO). NASA used infrared lasers which were developed by their colleagues from the Géoazur team in University C dte d’Azur, France.

How does it work?

This is not the first time the reflector has been used for such a purpose. Scientists have relied on reflectors on lunar missions ever since Apollo Program back in 1969.

Basically, a laser beam is sent to the reflector from Earth, then the amount of time it takes to return is measured. It also helps with calculating the distance between the Earth’s laser stations and the Moon’s reflectors. Reportedly, a couple of important discoveries related to the Moon were made thanks to this.

One of them was the fact that the Moon has a liquid nucleus, completed by the small sharp movements it makes as it rotates around itself.

The other revelation made thanks to magnetic measurements was that the little celestial body had a magnetic field long ago. She raised the question of which were the ribs of the Moon.

What is

It is time for the RLO to understand why 50-year-old reflectors installed by Apollo 11 and 14 crews are sending fairly low signals to Earth right now.

Older reflectors are supposed to be covered in dust by micrometeorological impacts on the Moon. And that dust is blocking the beams from properly reaching the reflectors. Scientists now plan to compare the discrepancy between light coming back from the LRO and older panels using computer models to find out if dust is the real problem.

Although experiments are successful and relevant research has been published, scientists have not done by gathering even more information.
