The Microsoft Surface Duo washes September 10 with $ 1,399 with prefixes starting today

It is finally happening! Microsoft’s dual-screen Android smartphone first announced in October 2019 should be available for preorder today, for a $ 1,399 lot, and should start shipping to customers starting September 10th. Microsoft has also revealed all the Surface Duo specifications you need to know, including those that allow things under the hood, network compatibility, and storage options.

Introduction today!

Microsoft Surface Duo

Two screens are better than one.

Microsoft is coming to the folding future with an ambitious dual-screen device, featuring two ultra-thin 5.6-inch AMOLED screens connected by a 360-degree hinge. This pocket-enabled smartphone for Android, marks the latest in the Surface lineup, adapted for mobile productivity.

Microsoft has spent the last year finalizing the hardware and software experiences for the Surface Duo, and the company now feels like the device is ready for the public, ahead of the “2020 holiday” deadline. Unfortunately, the wait between October 2019 and today means that the hardware inside is not using the latest and greatest.

Superficial duo specs

Giant Redmond has confirmed that the Surface Duo ships with a Snapdragon 855 and 6 GB of RAM that powers things under the hood. It also has a 3577mAh battery, and 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Although these are specs of recent years, the Snapdragon 855 is still a great processor which will not show its age anytime soon.

Microsoft also details the dual screens of the Surface Duo, which have now been confirmed to be AMOLED panels with a resolution of 1800×1350. They are also 100% accurate in SRGB and DCI-P3 colors, with a pixel density of 401 for a visible and vibrant experience. Microsoft calls them “PixelSense Fusion Displays” and they are designed to be identical so that images and applications do not look different on any screen. It also supports Surface Pension, including the latest Slim Pen models and older Surface models.

As for the camera, the Surface Duo sends with a single 11MP sensor on the right screen that is capable of recording 4K video. It is fair to say that this camera will not be an iPhone or Pixel competition, as this is not what Microsoft is focused on with this first generation. The camera app uses AI for photo optimization however, which can improve things.

Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer, Windows + Devices, said the following for the Surface Duo in today’s announcement:

“When we created Surface seven years ago, we wanted to challenge Congress by redefining expectations about what a productivity device should be and what it should do. Simply put; we wanted to help people get things done. We do not we defined combine two existing devices – tablet and laptop. We had a vision of how we could get the best elements of each to create something completely new.To find that perfect crossroads of hardware and software that unlocks a way more intuitive to work and create. We faced a skepticism, but eventually a new category was born that spurred growth for the computer industry.the ability to do things should not be limited to just sitting in front of a traditional computer. “

“Today, as we look forward to the next wave of mobile productivity and creativity, we see the same opportunity to create something new with the Surface Duo – not to recreate the phone, but to inspire people to rethink how they want to use the device. Available for pre-order in the US starting today, the Surface Duo brings together the power of the Microsoft 365 experience and the full ecosystem of Android mobile apps into a single, dual-screen device you can get kudo. “

The good news is that the Surface Duo will be available for purchase unlocked from day one through the Microsoft Store or BestBuy, and will work on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. This model will include eSIM in addition to nanoSIM, as well. US customers also have the option of purchasing a Surface Duo enclosed through AT&T if that is what they prefer.
