buckle, Gray’s Anatomy fans – the love triangle between Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) and Cormac “McWidow” Hayes (Richard Flood) is far away.
At the end of last season, viewers were left wondering if Meredith would end up with DeLuca or McWidow. Technically, DeLuca spread with the general surgeon in the middle of the cycle, and she started flirting with the newcomers. But even so, Meredith proved time and time again she cared for the surgical resident.
Now, Meredith and DeLuca will be back together Gray’s Anatomy Season 17? Recently, Gianniotti teased the couple script by moving forward. And there is much to unravel when the ABC medical drama returns.

As mentioned, Meredith and Andrew split up Gray’s Anatomy Season 16. Throughout the season, the surgical resident struggled with his mental health. Then when Meredith confronted her boyfriend about his behavior, he ended the relationship.
“I do not need this and I do not need you,” he said. “So we’re done.”
A few episodes later, Meredith told DeLuca that she still loved him, hinting that things had not ended between the two. However, romance took a back seat to DeLuca’s mental health scenario. Then on Gray’s Anatomy in the finale, DeLuca broke down in front of Meredith after rescuing Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.).
“I do not know what is happening,” DeLuca said, weeping as Meredith picked him up and brought him home.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published in August 2020, Gianniotti revealed that DeLuca’s mental health scenario will “continue to be explored” in Gray’s Anatomy Season 17. The actor also hinted that his character will try to make changes with Meredith.
“I think this season will feature a lot of DeLuca trying to make up for his mistakes, the things he said, the things he did ’cause he’ s unstable,” said Gianniotti. “And Meredith, trying to reconcile it or not “.
That said, McWidow will continue to be fighting for Meredith’s heart. Gianniotti suggested the new character has been in it for a long time, after Flood recently rose to a regular series.
“I think it ‘s something we’re still interested in,” Gianniotti said. “We still want to play it. It is a pleasure to watch. That is why they [promoted] he in regular series. So we can really have it for a while around it and really tell that story – and there’s no need to tell it in a short time. But have a season or so to say that. “

Still talking to Entertainment Tonight, Gianniotti delved deeper into the love triangle between McWidow, Meredith and DeLuca in Gray’s Anatomy.
“In the beginning … I think it was clear [DeLuca] was in difficulty getting his foot in the door in that triangle, “said Gianniotti.” And by the end of it, because of DeLuca’s mental health, he really did not do any great favors to himself either for Meredith in terms of their relationship. “
The actor also stressed that this made Flood’s character appear “much more desirable and stable and more of a compatible partner”. Although it seems Gianniotti believes Meredith and Andrew can still make a good match inside Gray’s Anatomy Season 17.

“They definitely have a great deal of compatibility,” he said. “I definitely think they have a lot of chemistry … I think of them as people who are opposite, but you’re attracted because of that. You kind of fill in each other or fill in each other ‘s gaps.”
He continued, “They are yin and yang in the sense that they are in different places in their lives. They have had different experiences in their lives, and these are the things that complement each other. But I think they have a good kick. “
Regardless of whether Meredith and DeLuca return together when Gray’s Anatomy returns for season 17, it seems that the love triangle with McWidow will not be resolved soon. So stay tuned. This will be interesting.
