Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially homeowners.
They bought their first home together in Santa Barbara County, California over the summer, a couple’s spokesman confirmed to Insider Mikhaila Frail.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were transferred to their family home in July this year,” the spokesman said in a statement. “They have settled in the quiet intimacy of their community since their arrival and hope this will be respected for their neighbors as well as for them as a family.”
Meghan and Harry reportedly previously lived in the eight-bedroom residence, Tyler Perry, 12 bathrooms in Beverly Hills. Santa Barbara, a 90-minute drive northwest of Los Angeles, is one of the wealthiest communities to live in, attracting the rich and famous from both California and across the country.
But despite its wealth, the community is far below ground and less vibrant than LA. It also offers more privacy.
Here’s what it’s like to live there, and why the wealthy couple may have chosen it as their new base in the US.
